This is not your normal coffee cup. Traditionally, all coffee cups are lined with a thin layer of plastic which is made of oil. However, eco cups are coated with a PLA lining.
What is PLA?
PLA (Polylactide) is derived from renewable resources such as cornstarch instead of fossil fuels which are not degradable. PLA has been around for a very long time, it is normally used in medical implants since it degrades within 2 to 6 months inside the body. Recently, PLA is being used in food packaging due to its degradable qualities.
